長引く咳は、結核かもしれません
Tuberculosis is a disease that mainly affects the lungs and is spread by inhaling bacteria released into the air when a tuberculosis patient coughs or sneezes.
Symptoms of tuberculosis include coughing, phlegm, fever, bloody phlegm, chest pain, body fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss.
If you have any symptoms that concern you, such as a cough that lasts for more than two weeks, frequent phlegm production, body fatigue, or weight loss, please visit a medical institution as soon as possible.
In addition, to reveive early tuberculosis diagnose, be sure to have a chest X-ray during health checkups at school or at your workplace. If you do not have the opportunity to have a chest X-ray, please use the city’s “Tuberculosis Screening (for those 65 years and older)” and “Lung Cancer Screening (for those 40 years and older)”.
If you are diagnosed with tuberculosis and undergo treatment, there is a public medical expense coverage system which allows you to continue treatment without worrying about high medical expenses. For more information, please have a look at the page below.
