吹田市ﾊﾟｰﾄﾅｰｼｯﾌﾟ宣誓証明制度
Suita City has introduced a partnership oath certification system from April 2023 as one of its efforts to support sexual minority parties to live their own lives, aiming to become a city where each citizen “recognizes, respects, and supports” each other’s diverse ways of living.
￭Sign up Starting Date
April 3rd, 2023 (Monday)
￭Eligibility
･Both parties must be over 18 years old.
･At least one of the parties must be Suita citizen or who plans to move to Suita city.
･Neither of the two must have a spouse (including a person who is in fact married).
･Both parties must not be involved in any other partnerships.
･The two are not close relatives.
￭Procedure
(1)Reservation
Please make a reservation of the oath day in advance by phone, fax, or email.
(2)The Oath
Both parties must come to the City Hall together on the appointed date and time to fill out the partnership affidavit and other forms.
￭Required documents at the oath’s time
(1)Certificate of residence or certificate of matters stated in the certificate of residence.
(2)A copy of the family registration or a document that proves the absence of a spouse.
※If your family registration domicile or address is in the Suita city and you have a consent form for partnership oath, then you don’t have to show the documents required on 1 and 2 .
【For Foreign Nationals】
Please submit a document that can confirm that you do not have a spouse, such as a certificate of eligibility for marriage issued by your home country, along with a Japanese translation.
(3)ID (driver’s license, my number card, passport, etc.)
(4)Proof of nickname (Chushoumei Shoumeisho) (if you wish to use a nickname)
￭What you will be able to do
(1)Move into municipal housing (apply to move in with your partner)
(2)Visitation and attendance at city hospitals (e.g. visiting at the time of hospitalization, being present when medical procedures are explained, etc.)
